WASHINGTON FRATERNAL ORDER OF POLICE ENDORSE STATE REP. JACQUELIN MAYCUMBER FOR CONGRESS 

KENNEWICK — May 22, 2024 — The Washington Fraternal Order of Police is pleased to announce it has endorsed State Rep. Jacquelin Maycumber, R-Republic, for Washington’s 5th Congressional District. Maycumber is running to replace U.S. Rep Cathy McMorris Rodgers, who in February announced her decision not to pursue an 11th term in Congress.

WAFOP President Marco Monteblanco said Maycumber received the organization’s endorsement based on her legislative record in Olympia and after consulting with WAFOP members in her district. Monteblanco added that Maycumber has consistently demonstrated her leadership as House Republican Floor leader, and a tireless advocate for public safety and the law enforcement community in Washington state.

“Jacquelin Maycumber understands the complex public safety challenges facing communities across Washington state and has repeatedly demonstrated her unwavering support for peace officers on the front lines in responding to those issues. As a member of the House, she fought for bills that prioritized public safety and against bills that would weaken community trust in law enforcement,” he said.

“As a former member of law enforcement, Rep. Maycumber knows first-hand the obligations and responsibilities that are associated with being a peace officer. We appreciate the work she has done in Olympia, and know she will continue those efforts if elected to serve in Washington, D.C.,” he added.
